Just Worship

It's 1:29am and my almost 18 month old just closed his tearful eyes. As I type this, I hear his sniffles across the room. Our sweet, precious almost 18 month old has never been a good sleeper. We have tried every kind of sleep training out there. Nothing has worked. And as I come up on almost 18 months of interrupted sleep, it hit me! I was sitting next to little Asher's bed, stroking his hair, whispering prayers to our king in his ear, through his screams. Just worship. I felt Asher's tears hit my cheek and I ran and grabbed my phone. I pulled up The Hymns Collective, and started to worship. "Thank you Lord for these sleepless nights, that I one day will long for", "thank you Lord for sweet Asher, please give his body rest", "thank you Lord for reminding me of my constant need for you"! The Lord of the whole universe entrusted me with my two babies, I don't want to miss this time to worship with them! Even if it is 1:29am! I'm so thankful for this time in these wee hours of the morning. I'm so thankful The Lord has given me this precious time to spend with him. This now quiet uninterrupted time! Oh how sweet is the God I serve and long for!

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. (Psalm 9:1, 2 ESV)

"Hallelujah, what a Savior"!
